My childhood in the 1950s was filled with so much more freedom than my own grown-up children ever knew.

Just after my fourth birthday we moved to a newly built block of flats in, what was then, the quiet village of Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire. This blog is filled with memories of my family's time there during the 1950s.

I hope this blog brings back happy memories for those of my generation and offers younger readers a sense of a very different era.
